Kumpa Tawornprom

Kumpa Tawornprom was born in Korat, Thailand, which after Bangkok, is the largest city in the Country. He grew up in Korat and received all his education there. Because of this, he has made an effort while growing up to learn many skills and crafts that are important to Thai culture. These include woodworking, pottery, leatherworking, cutlery and jewelry making.

At the age of 21, Kumpa came to America to further his education. He has been living in the Tampa Bay area since 1990, where he has been studying subjects such as English, math, marketing and science; however, his main interest has been fine art. He has taken many courses in ceramics, sculptures, painting, drawing, photography, general design and graphic design, art history and art studies over the years.

Professionally, he has been making a living as an artist specializing in large-scale commercial industrial sculpture.

The fine art work he has produced includes photography, pottery, paintings, drawings, wood carving and sculpture. His history has been limited to five solo exhibitions at local coffeehouses/galleries and participation in three college art shows.
